On 27 April 2011 around 21:00, the first commercial airline from the Dutch fleet Transavia landed on Gazipasa Alanya’s airport. This was a major event for the Alanya region and foreign investors moreover the foreigners living in Alanya already.
House prices dropped down dramatically due to the financial crisis. The convenience of having the airport close to paradise Alanya will certainly stimulate the real estate market again. The airplane, a Boeing 737 landed after two triumph circles over Alanya successfully and was welcomed by the fire brigade who created a water arch. Local school boys and girls welcomed the passengers with Turkish music and dance. All passengers where welcomed by officials from TAV, the mares of Alanya and Gazipasa and tour operator Neckermann and Thomas Cook. Both tour operators are the drivers behind the usage of the airport. We where there just to enjoy the fact that all rumours can be binned as of now and looking forward that airlines in Germany will sign contracts with Gazipasa/Alanya as soon as possible so that we can book our flights from Frankfurt /Germany to Gazipasa/Alanya paradise more often. Then it makes even sense to fly for a long weekend to Turkey. |
